Our family at the cabin we rented.
Our best family vacation was the summer we went to Duluth, Minnesota. There was so much to see and do in and around Duluth that we weren't able to experience everything in the short week that we were there.
We rented a cabin on a lake about 30 minutes outside of Duluth, and then took day trips into town. We explored many parks, the Children's Museum, took a harbor cruise, watched the ships come into the harbor, spent time at the Lake Superior Marine Museum, toured the Bong World War II Heritage Center, drove along the scenic North Shore up to Gooseberry Falls, and watched the famous Tall Ships sail under the Aerial Lift Bridge.
Late every afternoon, we headed back to our cabin where we could prepare a meal in the kitchen, or cook hot dogs and s'mores on a bonfire. The kids went fishing or swimming every evening. We enjoyed perfect weather and not a lot of mosquitoes (considering it WAS Minnesota).
My kids frequently ask if we can do this trip to Duluth again. It was a wonderful time exploring new sites, learning new things, and enjoying God's creation and each other.
